Omainen - Routes To Nowhere
Omainen (means "with voices" in Quenya, an elven language stemming from Tolkien's genius) is a French power heavy metal band formed in 2002. The four guys recorded in 2006 "The Death Of The Nation", a five track demo. After writing and recording they released in 2009 their 2nd demo "Routes To Nowhere".
Omainen calls themselves power heavy metal and that might be correct, maybe you can also add a sniff of thrash to it. But the main essence of the music is the clear vocals (although they are weakest spot here), melody and power. Songs are mostly up tempo with nice focus on the guitars. Good and heavy shredding with very nice leads like good metal should have. And the bass is doing major support in the four songs.
When you look at the songstructures it is oke as you might not be suprised by originality. The four songs are not world shocking and need an own face. Musically it is played well but real writing talent has not been shown.
The band offers this demo and the previous one for free download so go and grab them and see if Omainen is the band for you.
