Infera Bruo - Infera Bruo
This is a four track full length release that clocks in at just over thirty three minutes from Infera Bruo an American black metal outfit from Boston who have been going since 2009. Now what makes this stand out from most black metal releases is the use of clean vocals along with the more familiar raspy evil ones, not too sure if I like clean vocals on my black metal or not to be honest!! Anyway what do you get form this outfit, the album kicks of with “The Devil’s Eyes” which is a pretty decent start, some nice guitar work from Galen and the vocals like I say are a mix and are done by Galen and drummer Ardroth, synth player Germanicus makes up the band members on this release although they have added a bass player to the line up recently as Galen and Ardroth both cover the bass duties on the album. Anyway good start as the first track is a real goodie and got me interested straight away. “Upon Stone” is the next track on here and is quite a thrashy one too, with some good guitar work, maybe blackened thrash may be a more appropriate genre for this outfit, whatever it’s a decent track again with a mix of vocals and some good riffing throughout, good track with some nice shifts in pace, clean vocals are beginning to grow on me too!! “A Code of Will” is the third track starts of with some spacey style synth work with a very menacing tone before the guitars kick in again nice fast paced stuff and some good hard drumming to keep pace with them. This band are very decent indeed and I find it hard to believe that they had to self release this album surely they would be worth a punt by a label? Last track is “A Path Unwritten” which is probably my favourite, nice work again all round from all the guys and a great doomy feel to it to start with before the guitars really kick in.
Well this was a very good release that I would recommend to all black metal fans, not so straight all out black metal some very nice touches to the album that take them in a slightly different direction from just your standard black metal band. I would certainly say to you to go and buy this album as it’s a good listen and I am certainly looking forward to hearing more form this outfit.
