Gravewards – Subconscious Lobotomy
Hailing from Greece, death metal three piece Gravewards release their first demo “Subconscious Lobotomy” on a limited edition cassette. Here we have a 4 tracks of old school death metal.
Kicking off with 'Casket Entrapment' a nice mid paced riff driven track which brings to mind the good old 90’s death metal. Benediction immediately comes to mind. Nikos vocals site somewhere between David Ingram and Obituary’s John Tardy. The track has a nice groove with a memorable melodic riff running through it with some nice raw dirty sounding bass. Very nice!
The band continue in the same vein over the next three tracks making up 20 minutes in total. Overall it’s not earth shattering but it’s an enjoyable piece of old school flavoured death metal.
Grab a cassette if there are still some available as they are limited to 100 copies!
