Animated Dead - Tombs Of Carnage

This blasting powertrio from St. Louis, Missouri, has been active since 1990. After a split-up from 1994 till 2001, they recorded three demos, one live album and one full length (2013). Their new album contains eleven sick tracks.

Every single song keeps my attention by their ways of combining the blasts, vocals, riffs and the complex and technical changes in tempo. I’ve been listening this record for many times now, and every time it’s the silence that remembers me that the 28 minutes of stabbing and grinding brutal metal are over. Tombs Of Carnage has a kind of Brazilian twist of brutality to me, like Mental Horror, but not that fast. It contains a bunch of great old school and technical riffs, pounding drumworks and good, aggressive (both low and high) vocals spread-out over the album. I hear a mix of influences like Terrorizer, and even Slayer. In overall, this record is produced the right way the sound deserves. I recommend it to anyone for a ride in this musical roller coaster to take. I'm curious about their next work.
