This is a limited edition (500) compilation CD of some Mexican bands appearing on a festival of darkness I think. Pacal starts with tight easy tempo old school deathmetal with some escapes to doom and melody. all has great atmosphere enforced by dark grunting vocals!
Second band is Mandragore thrashing your head in with an aggressive form of melodic deathmetal. Great songs, brutal riffing, nice harmonics and massive vocals.
Of Dreams And Drama continue the story of darkness with atmospherical blackmetal with massive guitars also playing melody, keyboards and haunting evil vocals screaming and singing clean. Dramatic structured chaos.
Then Ansuz enter with a more subtle approach towards melody and harmony. Structured duelling guitarrifs with easy drumming easily flowing into the more metal parts playing pounding rhythyms and up tempos. Vocals are dark as well and song structures are better thought of than this review...
Final band is Postnecrum and like their name already states this is also dark as hell. Blackmetal with keyboards or church organs and pounding rhythyms making this sound bombastic. Guitars are thrashing as well as the drums. Vocals have different styles fitting into this kind of blackmetal...
Fucking nice compilation with overall great soundproduction and good to hear some underground bands from Mexico that deserve attention.
