We Are All Savages - We Are All Savages

It is hard to critique a limited amount of material on an album such as We Are All Savage's debut self titled EP. However, between both tracks here there is a sufficient amount of groovy Sludgecore/ Hardcore music that strays away from the typical style of generic bands all the way from Hatebreed to Throwdown and touches more upon bits of Metalcore even (especially when it comes to the screaming vocals combined with the opening rhythms of "Jersey Stranger"). "Vacate On The Bay" is more of the Sludge Metal type with a thicker sound like oil on water and carries a slower, heavier percussive beat that would appeal to fans of Black Sabbath. The hypnotic pace of the music shows the other half of the band, demonstrating their ability to do both fast and slow songs which adds up to show off their versatility, which will hopefully be expected on a future releases. The only downside is both tracks are very short, making the listen a bit difficult to really absorb without much more to go on. These may not be the best that We Are All Savages have to offer in the long run, but they are intriguing beginnings at least to draw fans in while new musical projects are in the works.
