Vesania - Distractive Killusions
Vesania is a Polish black metal band that already formed in 1997. Before this new album "Distractive Killusions" they released "Firefrost Arcanum" in 2003 and in 2005 "God The Lux". On this 3rd album the quintet playes a orchestral and bombastic form of black metal. Melody lines guided by a keyboard in songs that range from mid to up tempo and to blast beats. Because the keyboards are on the forground the guitars don't come out so strong although the riffmasters can do nice leads as you can hear in "Of Bitterness And Clarity". Multi vocal styles of the vocalist but also female chants in the background. In track "Silence Makes Noise" they put some death metal edges in it. With all this Vesania made a strong album that will appeal to the fans of black and death metal who are not afraid of some orchestral arrangements...
