The Hellevator - The Prophecy
In 2014 I made a review for a newcomer band called The Hellevator. I think, because I made a review which told you that you should buy their stuff…now I should make another one for them. Ok, no problem. Especially because I got their new record for free, hehe.
The new one is called “The Prophecy” and was recorded in the middle of 2015 at Presskopp Studios. The first debut-EP called “Abysmal” was already very cool and so I hope that their new record will continue what they started. Unfortunately, “The Prophecy” is not a real full-length album but nevertheless you get 6 Songs served in 28 minutes. The other 7 minutes are intro and outro and you can skip them. But the remaining 28 minutes will be 6 earwigs for you. I have already written it for their debut EP "Abysmal" and can only repeat it here. With "The Prophecy" The Hellevator is showing the rest of the world that they are able to make songs that are varied and catchy. Melodic death metal that not hurts your ears but invites to mosh around in the pit. In the best sense I think that sometimes the grunt voice of singer Olli is a little bit like the grunt voice of Fleshless’ singer and I think that the arrangement of the songs and music is like Kataklysm which are certainly musically not much better than The Hellevator. OK, the sound is not really like from the great canadians but the music is really comparable and if you like Kataklysm you will like The Hellevator, I’m sure of it. Nevertheless the sound is as good as it should be to hear the album again and again. Nothing is missing and it’s absolutely differentiated. Perfect work done by Presskop Studios.
So “The Prophecy” is fun from the beginning to the end (without intro and outro). My favorite song is 'Born From A Dead Womb', because I like the deep voices of singer Olli in this song. The song has some fast parts a little bit like grindcore and is very catchy. You can do nothing wrong if you buy this disk, very nice work from these german guys. If now only a label would be aware of the band, a little more money would be invested in cover design, the whole artwork and marketing and a little bit more time and money in an even better studio, then The Hellevator could be one of the top bands. So buy, buy, buy, and run to their concerts!
