Repulsor - Trapped In A Nightmare
Polish thrash, raw and energetic, same old same old…etc…would be a harsh statement to Repulsor’s music, in fact it would be total bullshit! This is really cool energetic thrash, yes its raw, it’s not a usual Teutonic terror rip off and it has more class like the US style had, much more finesse with many cool riffs!
The release starts to become even more exciting following the acoustic instrumental ‘The Summoning’. After this point, the songs become more second nature, they sound more Repulsor rather than trying to emulate the 80’s thrash sound with influences to my ears coming through as Dark Angel and Violent Force in terms of speed, especially on the first two tracks. Speaking of which, ‘R.M.D.H.’ (Real Mosher Dies Hard) has true fire in its belly, it has an intense tight thrash sense of fuck you with great recording quality and production.
The latter tracks like ‘Killing Instinct’ just sound awesome and are arranged with a touch more experience especially with some rip roaring time changes included with a tirade of guitar work and a full blown delivery of some cracking tunes that closes with ‘Stained Heritage’ that has some cool Exodus/Death Angel sounding riffs...
This release fires me up. It’s refreshing. Sure the vocals are not the strongest, but the music is very tight, very addictive, it is pure thrash. ‘Trapped In A Nightmare’ is a thrash release that every single mosher should check out, it has plenty of great guitar work, it has some amazingly fast arrangements with deft changes in intricacy and makes me in particular feel young again. This is how you release a debut EP basically. Nice work gents!
