Radical Nerve Distortion - Nailgunning Your Dome

This is a Dutch Hardcore trio, and when I say hardcore, I mean in the classic 80’s sense. Although it’s not a style I am a massive fan of, it’s fair to say that I am pleasantly surprised by ‘Nailgunning Your Dome’s’ quality. I was expecting total barbaric speed and destruction with angry shouting vocals, Radical Nerve Distortion does have this, but there is a good strong foundation underpinning the group’s music, and this actually comes from the vocals. Introducing many a tried and tested riff and lick, RND do enter your pallet with ease, especially songs like ‘Six Dead, Seven Missing’, almost a crossover piece of music. The EP’s title track gets more shouts out, exactly what I had thought they would sound like, but again, it is not that bad, it is just not that different to what I have heard in this genre in the past.

‘Glasgow Smile’ makes me laugh, anyone who knows what this is will do the same, RND don’t have much time to get this message across, but apart from its relation to a painful real life phenomenon RND bash the hell through some tight rhythm work, and fast drumming etiquette as if business as usual, its sounds easy to play and the tightness of the recording gives the major factor of praise for the bands effort.
