Plector - Dark & Spiteful
Plector, a three piece from Sweden, is comprised of members going by the names of Eryk "Beardmuff" Engbo-guitar/vocals, Patrik "Blaffan" Wall-bass/backing vocals and Vilhelm "Killhelm" Norberg-drums. Known on the metal scene for their trademark flannel shirts and beer swilling, these guys have put together an angry thrashing death metal album.
Their newest release entitled "Dark & Spiteful" was originally self-produced, but is now being re-released by Discouraged Records. It's full of great melodic thrashing riffs, heavy groovy guitar solos, and intense drum licks. The death metal vocals are perfect for the lyrical overtone of this album, which is pure brutal anger. Vocally, the heaviest and deepest brutality comes from the songs "Kill Yourself Inside" and "Dark & Spiteful". Pure death metal vocals reign on these songs as do the intense guitar riffs.
Overall, the heavy deep death metal vocals combined with the thrashing music make for an excellent album for lovers of both thrash and death metal.
