Order Of 315 – Near-Birth Experience
Hard rock and heavy metal sometimes walk a finely woven tightrope that hovers over the wall of talent. "Near-Birth Experience" released by Order Of 315 in 2012, walks that tightrope with success. The first track, ‘Enemies Wait Inside’ is the best track on the CD, which is a little disappointing. From personal listening experience, the best track as the first track makes for a subpar listening experience. The other nine songs aren’t bad, they just aren’t as good as the first one.
The use of Dennis Leary’s lines from the movie ‘Judgment Night’ in ‘Dogs That Lick, That Bite (They Leary Bill of Rights)’ perked my ears up. As a huge Dennis Leary fan, I immediately caught on to his voice and the movie from which the line was plucked. The use of movie quotes in songs is dangerous if permission hasn’t been gained (ask Hatebreed about the original version of ‘Before Dishonor’). So I hope Order Of 315 did their homework!
‘Nonpoint’ is a lot of screaming and noise. Again, I know people that are fans of this kind of music (sometimes I am one of those fans) but it seemed a little out of place along with the gist of the rest of the album. The singing and yelling in this track along with the seemingly out of tune harmonies in the background made this song a little painful to listen to.
It sounds like Order Of 315 had a lot of fun recording this album. The mix of rock and thrash metal makes each song unique in its own right. "Near-Birth Experience" is something to pick up for the most eclectic music lover.
