Obsessor - Sick Salvation
This is a one man band project following in the footsteps of early Toxic Holocaust. Brandon Ferral used to be the drummer in Municipal Waste up until 2004 (recording ‘Waste ‘em All’) and the style loosely matches that sort of effort.
Opener ‘Sick Salvation’ has speed and an angry crossover edge, it’s raw, energetic and the production is spot on. ‘The Demon’ verges more on the side of speed punk, like Iron Lamb and some of the aforementioned Toxic Holocaust’s bruisers. There is nothing magical about the songs save for their energy, they are really good fun, they have a sense of urgency about them and provide a simple but effective listening experience no matter how short and sweet that experience may be.
