Nuestros Derechos - Struggling With The Dark
Nuestros Derechos... when I read the band name I immediately thought this album would be coming from some Mexican or Spanish band. I was totally wrong, Nuestros Derechos is a Thrash Metal band from my foreign country the Netherlands, their band name is Spanish for “Our Rights”. This band brings a bit more than 20 minutes of Thrash Metal in 7 songs. Thrash Metal played at mid- and up tempo speed, with lot’s of grooves and some nice solo’s. First song is called “Devil’s Repent”, this is one of the longest song on the disc clocking in on 4:04 minutes. Problem with this song is that it lasts to long to be interesting to the end, the same grooving riff (which isn’t a bad one) get’s repeated way to much thus causing the urge to skip the song after 2 minutes. The other songs on this album haven’t got this problem, they are short and quite powerful, however I find the most mid-tempo riffs a bit dull. The up-tempo riffs, on songs like Nosferatu and Nazgul are quite impressive. The vocals are quite good, though they tend to get a bit repetitive after a while, luckily the backup vocals solve this problem. The drumming is decent, nothing to fancy and it works well.
This is a good debut, if this band could add a little more variation to their songs this will end up pretty nice. Keep on going Nuestros Derechos!!
