Multinational Corporations - Jamat-Al-Maut

Oh – a review for a Pakistanian Grindcore band? I never heard a Pakistanian band before!

Mhh. The band is called Multinational Corporations, a grindcore band from Lahore/Pakistan. The output “Jamat-Al-Maut” is recorded and mixed in D.I.Y. in only 4 days by two bandmembers of the band and it is the second release after their "Equality" demo in 2011. After the recording, the mixing is done by Jeff Fischer and the artwork is made by Aneeq Zaman.

The two bandmembers (Hasan: voice, Sheraz: all instruments) of "Multinational Corporations" tried to let out all of their anger, hate and general fury and wanted to ban this into the songs and the output and the main influences are bands like Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Extreme Noise Terror, Cripple bastards and so on.. So their words on their Facebook-page to this output. It can be, that to life in Pakistan is real shit and that it accumulated over time due to the fucked up conditions of living in Pakistan. Because this is what they say regarding to this album. I see politically lyrics, great, I love political Grindcore, yeahhh! I think this must be a cool album, full of hate, fast and hard songs and fucking great political words.

OK, disc in the player – volume up to ten and now I want HATE! First song is “Fuck Your Patriotism”. This is my attitude – great! What I now hear is a song with a sound like the early 90’s – comparable with bands like Agathocles or Extreme Noise Terror from this decade. 54 seconds fast old school Grind with sometimes short danceable mosh-parts. But not only old school. Unfortunately it is badly done. Simple guitars and a simple drums without technical influences. A voice which isn't full of hate. And the Lyrics? The same like the music. Simple and clear. Nothing to think about it. No hidden meanings, no metaphor or something else.

And this is the whole concept for the first four songs. Only the last song is a little surprise because the song is a really atmospheric slowly song. Not complex but nice. Ok. This begs a question. What is this album? Well, I think, it’s a trial. For people who love simple music with simple English lyrics. From me there is no purchase recommendation. Next time, more time should be taken for a recording.
