Minotaur - Beast Of Nations
It’s been a while, 7 years in fact since their comeback release "God May Show You Mercy...We Will Not" for this furious thrash band that formed in Germany in 1983. Musically comparable to the style of Kreator and Destruction, this thrasher is full of life and has a great punk infused stance, even in the opener ’27 Dead’. The gnarl, the bands energy is pretty special, there is certainly no experimentation here, its heads down, amps up to full and assault the audience with some precise thrash tunes.
What really helps is the stellar production, this is half the battle. The other side of the coin is the flow of the tracks. Nothing is too complicated, nothing is lazy either and there is an atmosphere around this short EP that not only relives the old days, but has a very relevant presence in today’s thrash scene.
Short, simple, effective, one the highlights of recent thrash releases from long standing bands.
