Minds Obscure - Reality

Minds Obscure began in 2006 as a one man project emerging from the ruins of the thrashing death metal ancients hailing from Brandon Manitoba (Canada) dubbed the Grand Fathers of Time. The purest of intentions of Minds Obscure were to find skillful members to create a completely outlandish band unlike anyone had ever seen or heard. Though the hunt still continues, the influences have shifted, the sound has evolved into a much stronger flowing progression, mixed with classical metal, thrash metal, and of course the ever present technical death metal.

This is the official bio from Minds Obscure, an one man project by Graham who is most of all a guitarist. As you can read in the review of his previous release "Humanity". Graham is not only shredding like a maniac but also doing some sensative slower moments or atmospheric leads. For the vocals he is singing in a wide variation and using multiple channels to give you the impression that there are more singers. Because the guitars are mixed highly on the forground the drumcomputer is not that relevant. It is there but it doesn't lurk for the leading role. Tempo of the four songs vary from fast like the opener "I'll Never Return" or even the more faster closer "Hate Creates Hate" but also a more sophisticated and atmospheric slower one like the 14 minute song "Frozen Towers".

With this EP Minds Obscure again delivered a nice one with lots of variation and you can check out the opening song the MySpace page.
