Minatox69 - Collapse
Minatox69 is a metalband from northern Italy and was formed in 2010 by the members Fox, Bozart, Checco and Tado who where good friends at the time. After writing material and rehearsing, the band started to record a demo, and in the same year that the band started to play "La Forsa Nel Deserto" was released. Soon a lot of Italian shows followed and the band became a force to be reckoned with. After two years of playing and touring the band started to go to studio again and went to record "Hot line". Again the band started playing shows but finally it was decided that the band was going for a break.
After five years of living in the shadows Minatox69 regrouped and started working with Mad4Music Management and started to grow in the Italian metal underground. After that they did shows abroad and even opened for Sepultura and Lacuna Coil. In January of 2020 the band recorded the album "Collapse" with a lot of energy and started to negotiate with some labels and managements. But more important Minatox69 released their first full length album this year.
Starting with the killer song 'Can't Believe' a texture of haunting and changing guitar riffs. heavy drum grooves are bringing the music and screaming vocals together. The bass guitar has a very important part in the middle of the song and is leading it until the breakdown kicks off. The flow in this song is amazing and it keeps your attention until the end of the song.
The song 'Collapse' is also a good example of raw metal with some new influences that sound a bit funky, but every time after that the raw guitar riffs are taking over. With a mixture of different vocals the singer is really showing of his abilities. The bass guitar in this song is a bit hidden but at some parts still noticeable, together with the drums it provides a strong basis for the guitar to build on. Let not forget how important that is. After a drum fill the song end goes into a softer part until it finally ends.
'Next Enemy' is also a song that I like. It sounds a bit different compared to the other songs on the album. It has a inconsistent groovy guitar riff that is followed in good cooperation by the drums. The vocals are also following the riff and so is the bass guitar. This song is a example of how well coordinated music can be. At the final part the music finally eases a bit up its giving a nice feeling and the song slowly fades away.
"Collapse" has a lot of other good songs but this were the 3 that I liked most. But the album also has a very strange song, it is more of an experience I would say. Lets see if you can find it when you are listening to the album "Collapse".
It is noticeable that the band has a lot of experience playing and rehearsing together, all of the instruments are doing their own musical parts and yet it all comes together. Stefano Ochid did a really good part in mixing and mastering this album, everything sounds well aligned. Everything has their own sound on this album but still the sounds do match very well. The vocal abilities of the singer are good and you can hear that Tado has done a lot of singing.
Overall the album is nice and I hope to hear some more about Minatox69 in the future.
