Metsatoll - Hiiekoda
Metsatöll combine their Estonian roots with metal and created this album lasting more than an hour. The basis is formed by powerfull heavy metal in different tempo from bombastic to the more speed parts with emphasis on every instrument used. On top of this already solid sounding basis there's elements of folk and traditional estonian music of course with the use of typical folk instruments. Compositions are well designed with great metalparts and room for recognizable folk parts. Vocals also fit to the folk metal style with bombastical voices, chorusses and chants from the forests. A lot of variation from subtle and soft melody to heavy bombastic and fast metal. Very interesting CD for everyone interested in folkmetal...
