Mass Obliteration - Fratricide
This is a demo by Mass Obliteration from Italy. Fortunately the recording quality is pretty good and I already listened to official albums that sounded more crappy. During the 16:24 min. of playing time these guys show their musical skills and offer their vision of Death Metal. All songs vary in structure, tempo and riffing, but I didn´t get the central theme of this release. Sometimes there are simply too much ideas in one song, which is really a pity. Death Metal, melodic parts, Grindcore, Thrash Metal… all mixed up in every track. Of course the guys know how to handle their instruments and have an imagination of how they want to sound, but some more straight-to-your-face riffs would have been even better. Please don´t get me wrong: “Fratricide” is still a cool demo with nice ideas and should be recommend to people who like Grimness 69 or similar underground acts.
