Lykhaeon – Ominous Eradication Of Anguished Souls
Lykhaeon are a black metal three piece from Switzerland. This EP is their first release through Godz Ov War Productions and the follow to their debut full length released independently in 2015.
“Ominous Eradication Of Anguished Souls” gives you two tracks, both 13 minutes in length each 'Chthonios 1 & 2'. It’s best played as a full piece of work. A black metal "Tubular Bells" if you will.
It has that chaos and release of raw emotion you get with Leviathan. It also has that darkness you get with early Darkthrone. The track have many layers and go through different sections, they start of all guns blazing heavy morose riffing, tortured vocals and then you get your ambient sections and it really brings together the atmosphere of being in the deep mountains and forests. It captures to concept of starring into the abyss.
It is only 26 minutes but at the end you are left feeling like you woken up from a dream! You have come out the other side of something.
"Ominous Eradication Of Anguished Souls" IS definitely worth listen for those that like atmospheric black metal. It’s not one you’ll play often but when you do dig it out you’ll be glad you did.
