Impalers - Prepare For War

This EP is actually followed by a new album that is already out called ‘Gods from the Machine’. For this Danish thrashing machine their influence is the vibrant sounds of all things Teutonic. Kreator being the obvious influence towards the end of the 80’s on the opener ‘Prepare for War’. The second track ‘Destination: Warfare’ follows a similar path but leads into Sodom territory, quote apt that the next track is a Sodom cover from their 2001 release ‘M-16’. The militaristic/war-like cover and approach to Impalers’ song writing go hand in hand. The closing statement is Motorhead’s ‘The Hammer’, the closing statement from the ‘Ace of Spades’ release. There is a fantastic level of pace, and it’s good to hear that their own two tracks take inspiration and kind of emulate these two covers chosen.

I would be most eager to hear their newer full length album, but for this EP, this is a fine introduction to Impalers style and aggression, the energy is great for all you thrashers out there, all upbeat, all marching forward into battle displaying a middle finger to the establishment.

  3. Napalm In The Morning (cover Sodom)
