Hypnos - Heretic Commando
Ten track full length release form Czech Republic death metal band Hypnos, a very good release it is too. This lot have been going since 1999 so are a long time well respected outfit, and tight as fuck band they are too! Kicks of with a cracking track “ Nailed to the Golden Throne” which sets the tone and pace for the whole album. Great growly low vocals from Bruno who also doubles up as bass player and some real kick ass guitar work from Igor, who riffs with the best of them. Drummer Pegas keeps the pace going well with some top playing as well, tight as fuck band who know what they want and how to get it! This album comes in at just over thirty five minutes and it just flies by in an orgy of death metal!! It cracks along at a really good pace and just does not let up and as I said the playing is all of a high order, track after track of great material.
“Cholera/Mor is another cracker of a track but in my humble opinion there is no bad track on this album, makes me want to check out all their other releases, this being their fourth full length release and various other demos and e.p.s a band well worth taking a look at!
The album is a must for fans of death metal fans, not technical but good honest death metal! Not a bad track on this release and a hard album to have any favourite tracks on it as they are all very good, if I was going to go for any one track I would probably plump for “Burning Again/Hymn of Eternal Fire” which has a great big fat riff in it that is evil as fuck, great guitar work!!
Summing up I would say this is a must have release, so go buy it!!
