Human Abattoir - 5 Way Split
Ok, this is a new release from Rotten Music. This should conclude my review and all brutal death metalers should go check it out. The name Rotten Music is definitely getting seriously attached to top notch brutal releases and this is nothing to question about if someone just takes a look at the roaster of the label. This time mr Chris Jachym decided to hit us with a new 5 Way Split CD. "Human Abattoir" is the title and the title speaks for itself.
First band to break the silence is Fetor. Brutal death metalers from Poland with a really nice slammy attitude. Two songs is their contribution to this split. Mostly mid tempo without any speed exaggeration but heavy as a bulldozer. Super brutal growling and some really nice downbeats.
Next stop, and also with two songs are the Spaniards Cranial Blowout. Their master is less loud than Fetor but equally brutal. Their slam parts are, little less so I would have to say that they are into brutal death metal with a really distinct guttural throat. A really nice choice to continue although you might have to turn the volume a bit up on them.
Now turn the volume a bit down again. The next band is breaking the two song barrier with three. Feto In Fetus come from Poland also and they play slammy brutal death metal with pinches of grind here and there. They are more into speed than the previous two. At least in these three songs. They break the roughness of relentless blasting though with crusty atmospheres of course which by the way don't take away an inch of brutality. Of course once the atmosphere is over, blasting carries on from where it stopped. They are the band so far with the biggest variety in their music as you will see them jumping from slam to grind and then to brutal death really easy. Decent vocalist and the three songs (one of em is 11 secs) from Feto take the level even further.
4th band of this massacre comes from Brazil. Splattered Genocide take us back to basics. Two songs from them too and besides their sharp riffs, slammy breakdowns and relentless skin beating what takes us from the neck is the vocalist who seems to be doing whatever the heck he wants with his throat. Really deep and long pig squeals succeed ultra brutal gutturals over an awesome carpet of brutal death/slam tunes.
Last band to participate comes from Philippines and their name is Goremitory. 5 songs for them and they are definitely the band with the most raw production here. Well maybe Cranial Blowout can compare with them in roughness but I still believe these pinay death bringers are a bit more. Their music is classic brutal death metal with slammy interleaves and a real pig on vocals. If you search deep into it you'll probably find the blasting exaggerations a bit too much and maybe some better programming in general wouldn't hurt but damn it who wants to look so deep in something that is so brutal as it is?
"Human Abattoir" in general is a really stand up 5 Way Split with great bands that each one has each unique style but all together serving the purpose of brutal death-slam. I even like the fact that the bands didn't try to even the master and each band has its own sound. An excellent pick for the fans of the genre. Poland meets Spain meets Brazil meets Philippines in an orgy of brutality. Seriously you do not wanna miss that. Word!
