Harvey Milk - The Pleaser
I received their previous album "My Love Is Higher Than Your Assessment Of What My Love Could Be" some time ago and didn't like that one at all. Some doomy space shit and kept my fingers crossed when injecting this disc. But what a surprise. The band plays rough rock n roll this time! Up tempo rockers with a too-much-whiskey-and-smoke singer and with straight guitars with nice leads. Yeah baby, this is rock for dirty and dark pubs with nasty jokes inbetween the songs. The band doesn't take itself serious as you can reaad between the lines. And as a bonus you get a live CD of this album recorded on a live radio set. On their Myspace page you can hear 4 songs but in their doomy style and not this rock style.
