Gwar - Lust In Space

The legendary Scumdogs of the Universe return with a new release due out August 18. Lust In Space picks up where the immortal Antarctican gods left off on Beyond Hell in their quest for dominance of the cosmos. Since the excessive use of hairspray by mainstream metal bands in the 80s awakened them from their slumber deep beneath the south pole, GWAR have fought countless battles with every otherworldly creature imaginable, fueling a concept with the potential to rival the likes of Kiss and Alice Cooper with its full scope. Bold words? Perhaps, but bold words and deeds are what GWAR are all about. Their subjugation of Earth is far from complete, as our world has spawned much more unworthy human filth since we last heard from them. Fortunately they remain determined as ever to annihilate as many humans as they can get their hands on, as evidenced by the relentless aggression of Lust In Space. The trademark GWAR sound as displayed here is as vital as anything they achieved on underground classics like America Must Be Destroyed and Ragnarok, with renewed dedication on their part to forge a place in the metal industry equal to that of their heyday. The band’s scathing, politically incorrect commentary on world events hasn’t diminished either, as their views on religion, government and celebrity is all what fans have come to expect from them. Watch for the new single “Let Us Slay” coming soon.
