Gutalax - Shit Happens
Gutalax, Czech Gore'n'roll band, has done it again. The men around singer Maty have produced their second album called "Shit Happens" after the band was founded in 2009. They recorded shit 26 times and then simply called the album "Shit Happens". But it not quite is. In almost 30 minutes of playing time, there are 26 songs with the typical sound of Gutalax. The songs are the Goregrind genre so not really politically correct. Sexist, simple or just crappy titles give the listener an indication of their content while the songs themselves suggest best to a possibly existing text. For example there are titles like 'Fucking From Behind Of Macaw Cockatoo' or 'Fart Fart Away'. You can listen to any case the usual Goregrind with a neat dash of rock'n'roll Gutalax.
The disc’s sound is absolutely perfect. Nothing is wrong with it. Great guitar sound which is really catchy. The drum is completely audible and perceptible at any time and finds the right rhythm. Soundwise really good and great work and a bit better than on the first album "Shit Beast". Musically however there are no new features. Nothing surprising or something that gives you a punch that you fall from the chair. The album begins where "Shit Beast” stopped, but does not set new accents and correspondingly ends like "Shit Beast" begun. On the contrary, perhaps even missing invasions which were still present in "Shit Beast". Unfortunately, not a single song really stands out and therefore it is difficult to designate a check out tip. At best, the song 'Hairytails' shows a little ingenuity.
Taste is surely the vocals of Maty. Personnaly, after two songs I was in any case more than just bored and would have hoped to find a bit of variety on this album. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Goregrind fans will probably love it. To conclude, the disc was made for people who like absolutely dull and unimaginative Goregrind and already found Gutalax’s first album awesome. Live and with a drunken head and the right audience it could be quite funny but for my taste not more. Nevertheless, 3 points for the good sound.
