Graveyard Dirt - Shadows Of Old Ghosts
Graveyard Dirt is a band formed in 1994 and released a demo in 1995 before they split up in 1998. But they reunited in 2005 and released a new one in 2007.
"Shadows Of Old Ghosts" is their 1st album or should we say MCD as it contain 3 tracks? The style you are gonna hear when you put the disc on is melodic doom in long duration songs (shortest is 8.30 minutes). The focus lays with the guitars as their are riffing several melodies after eachother and the blend is not always as smooth as it should be. Looks like the are glueing several ideas just behind eachother to get long songs. But they are doing some nice flowing melodic leads. Vocals are a combination of narrating and forced singing but most of the time it is instrumental.
With these songs Graveyard Dirt has release some nice ideas which have to be modified but they are on the right way.
