Gorgásmico Pornoblastoma - Duo A Quem Doer
Gorgásmico Pornoblastoma comes from Guimaraes, PortugaL. They have been around for more than a decade already, punishing humanity with their lo-fi noise/grindcore. Sometimes their sound gets heavier and more brutal, especially due to the death metal touches which appear on their vocals.
Gorgásmico Pornoblastoma is Ced (guitar/vox) and Luizao (drums). A duo is somewhat of a classic line-up for proto-grind and noise/grindcore bands. This type of rock orchestra bands often used (and they still do) to omit the bass and of course the 2nd guitar. Some of these bands use double vocals, but here Ced is doing the job alone, and he is doing just fine on his own using low-end grunts, death metal oriented vocals and high-pitched vocal parts full of disgust towards society.
Although coming from just 1 guitar, the riffs of Gorgásmico Pornoblastoma are massive. The band manages to create a thick guitar noise-wall background, but still you can feel and listen to their riffs. The drums of Luizao cooperate nicely with Ced’s guitar and vocals. The drum patterns and themes are performed over the guitar and the vocals, creating this way a very interesting result. Although there seems to be no metronome here, and the whole recording actually sounds like a live rehearsal, the 2 musicians do have a flawless collaboration and a cool result occurs because they actively listen to each other. All this makes the sound of Gorgásmico Pornoblastoma "human" and "real" creating the sense of being in the rehearsal room with them.
Although the band's name, at first, made me think I'd listen to gore, "Duo A Quem Doer" is not a gore release. It is grind/noise with references to the likes of Agathocles, Unholy Grave, Malignant Tumor and Archagathus.
On "Duo A Quem Doer" apart from the obviously grinding stuff, you also get slower songs that make a really nice addition to the album and are cool interludes indeed among the 50 (!) tracks of the tape. There are also few punk-breaking riffs and tracks, something absolutely logical for the genre.
"Duo A Quem Doer" was recorded at the fall of summer of 2018 at "O Covil" studios by Gorgásmico Pornoblastoma and the recording received a final mastering by João Ribeiro (Underdog Studios). "Duo A Quem Doer" cassette tape is limited to 100 hand-numbered copies. In the booklet there are many photos and all necessary info you need to comprehend the band and the material. Murder Records did a really nice job once again! The package is completed with a 2-sided poster.
To sum up, if you enjoy raw grind, proto-grind, noise-grind and rehearsal/lo-fi recordings in general, and you feel disgust for the society, then here you will have a gruesome, sickening experience waiting for you, coming from an honest band with great attitude. You will surely enjoy it!
