Entombed - Clandestine
Ofcourse as a death metal fanatic you are familiair with Swedish Entombed. They released a classic album in 1990 called "Left Hand Path" wich ofcourse you have on vinyl and CD. Their sophomore release is from 1991 and called "Clandestine". Again filled with heavy, groovy and brutal songs. Never forgetting the melody and the cranking riffs. After this release the band went to another direction in the style as they went more towards rock n roll. But nevertheless this is also a classic like their debut.
But more interesting in this re-release is the bonus DVD. Actually it was released as a VHS tape called "Monkey Puss" in 1999 and also as a live CD. On this DVD disc you find 5 promo videos from 1989 till 1995 and covering more albums than just the first two. Every clip begins with little info who directed it and from what release it is taken. In "Stranger Aeons" you see that girl from that pop group Army Of Lovers, haha. Also in these clips you notice their style change but still funny to see.
But more interesting is the live registration of the live gig in London where you only hear songs from their first two releases, jummy. The quality is acceptable as it is left in it's unedited form. The gig is filmed with multiple cameras so you get close ups, overview and behind the drumkit. The sound is a bit weak so you have to turn up loud. But maybe that is supposed to be. Like I said before the whole is jummy and one big trip back to the roots of Entombed where they just were Entombed fucking Entombed.
