Disminded - Beheading The Snake
"Beheading The Snake" is the second album by this German band called Disminded. Active since 2009, this latest work comes after 2 demos, an EP and the previous full "Out Of The Ashes" released in 2015.
Disminded play an impactful death / thrash metal that reminded me so much of the well-known but at the same time underestimated Dew Scented and in many ways also the great Dawn Of Disease.
"Beheading The snake" includes within it 11 very articulate and different songs. Honestly I had never heard them but the title track that opens this very valid work has really left me speechless. The more I listen to it, the more I find references to the two bands I mentioned previously. And that's good, because all sounds are really direct.
Rhythm section always present and pounding with a simple but tremendously powerful and incisive guitar riffing. Very deep voice that blends well with each song. In short, everything works properly, as if we were finding ourselves in front of a much better known name.
'Beheading The snake', 'Disminded' are the openers that immediately put on black and white what the listener must expect from this album. Halfway through the work, "I Am You" arrives, perhaps the most varied of this album, where scream, growl and times slowed down by chills arrive. Fantastic revelation.
With 'Parasite Inside' we start with the more canonical thrash metal parts and pushed to the Dawn Of Dreams; This is just a classic sound that will make you get up from the chair. A little more cadenced and rhythmic (with its nice bass intro) 'Carved In Stone'. Here too the heavier parts made well defined by the voice are perfectly at ease with the mood of the song.
A beautiful instrumental song entitled 'Breakdown Of Sanity' arrives in the closing phase, intense and exciting just to appreciate the technical dexterity of these guys. 'Final Cut' and 'Acid' (complete with a pig squeal!!) close this promising album with a flourish.
What to say in closing.. I was pleasantly impressed by this album! Well done Disminded!!
