Dark Remains - A Construct To Obliterate

Dark Remains is a Dutch Old School Death Metal outfit and “A Construct To Obliterate” is the third full length offering since the band was formed in 1998. I don´t know their previous releases (“Death Manifestation” - 2002 and “Planet Earth Scourged” - 2006), but this one´s a pretty cool snapshot of the Dutch underground. Dark Remains unleash some great heavy and downtuned riffs, while the pounding drums range from “normal” tempo to some slower parts. The production is raw but powerful and fits the band´s type of music very well. It´s impossible to emphasise a single track, because the complete work is surely suitable for EVERY Old School Death Metal lunatic. Dark Remains is not another clone act, but a credible and ambitious band with lots of potential and great songs in the vein of slower Incantation, Autopsy and Bolt Thrower. Ok, this isn´t surely a brandnew style, but every underground fan should give them a try. Let´s hope these guys won´t take another 3-years-break to release their next album.
