Damp Old Man - 2 Track Single

First and last seen at The Lomax 30.6.13 and an impressive set the guys gave – I am sure my pupils got bigger all the way through their set as the deep heavy grooves of face melting metal just reigned down and defined the band in one fell swoop, despite them looking like a grunge band, these guys know how to kick ass!  Now reviewing these two tracks of which both were experienced at the Little Panther gig back in June.

Pablo Aimar
A provocatively seductive track that begs your attention but with a chug of ferocity that is just so addictive! Venomously insatiable and holds sheer fascination as its strong compelling riffs reach towards the aural with unadulterated provocation. Strongly arranged and produced – it will leave you breathless!

Metal Sharks (B-Side)
This track was spawned from the darkest recesses of hell with Satan lending the vocals!! It literally sucks the air from your lungs as you listen and licks your ears with a ferocious tongue! The heavy sinewy riffs, scathing dark vocals and hard edge bass hooks really pack a punch to some uncompromising drum beats moulded together, it’s a devilish track that just warrants more playing and more listening!

The throaty lure really brings out the best in Damp Old Man and guaranteed to set the temperature rising as the emotive structures become more apparent on each track in turn and holds something special for the listener. You could say a musical time bomb that explodes on listening – I just love these two tracks with an extreme intensity! You can feel the swell of your heartbeat quicken with each riff and each rhythm until it leaves you totally exhausted. Live these guys will incite a pit and within it you may well experience a typhoon that will send shock waves further than the eye can see and the ears perceive!

Both tracks are prominent, provoking a deep dark thought with imagery to match and will fuel any metal enthusiast, more than just a rewarding listen but may well require an exorcism afterwards!

This is what it is all about, when you listen to two good tracks. An exceptionally amazing band both live and on disc – looking forward to seeing them live again to witness that intense pleasure wash over me once more! Roll on the album – I want one!
