Cuntaminated - Aborted Noise
They come from Taunton-Somerset (England), and they list among other influences, Family Guy and South Park! I can't help saying that I like them already. Humor in death metal was always and will always be deeply appreciated cause that way, one can clearly see that the band is having a great time doing what they do. And after all death metal is all about honesty! I mean, everyone likes the production, the riffs, the brutality, professionalism and stuff like that... but who wouldn't think positive for a band that plays their rehearsal and then go to their favourite death metal gig to beat up with the other deathsters? Who wouldn't like a band that would consider death metal to be a huge party of good and tight playing, beers and splatter and gore? Well ladies... Cuntaminated is a band that really gets that party atmosphere going and going and going... even from their nicknames one can tell that those guys are into this whole thing, for the fun of it. We're talking about 'The Cunt', 'Always Late', mr 'Cadavar Consumer', 'Doom Beard' and mr 'Random'…
"Aborted Noise" is their EP for 2012. It consists of 3 songs of pure brutality, as they are swarming of chaotic blast beats, intense guitars, deep guttural vocal notes and ear piercing screaming and of course a lot of groove that gives the proper time for someone to breathe before he gets back in the pit!
The EP starts with a short intro and a song called 'Cot death Carnage'. Babies crying and they really couldn't pick a better song for an opening track. Great riffing and a great mid groovy part, great vocal flow and a refrain meant for live! Next on the menu is 'Aggravated Homicide' and it is a continuation of the previous track. No intro this time. Just sheer brutality! Next and last song of the EP is 'Bete Noire', which I believe is the less aggressive song of the EP. Not that it is a bad track or anything. On the contrary it is a great track. Again the vocal flow is excellent and the riffing is great. Drums and bass follow. It is just that the two opening ones were way better and tend to drop a slight shadow above this third and last one! Without making it a bad track of course.
The entire band seems to be in a great musical level and everyone seems to be skilled in their instruments. But I have to say that the vocals (two vocalists) are the strong part of this release, they seem to have achieved a perfect flow on the tracks, sometimes following the riffs and others just cursing lyrics above a blastbeat. The whole production is very good although I must say I have heard better ones in their type of death metal. Xtra thumps up for the awesome cover and layout of the EP (fans of Cliteater and Haemorrhage check it out)! So what you're waiting for lads? Grab a six pack, call some hookers, invite a couple of friends and let it play loud!
