Crepitation - The Violence Of The Slams
'Elephantitis Jimmy Hill Style Gigantic Chin Pandas'? Really? Prepare yourself for ten jaw breaking and totally senseless titles cUmming your way from the debut full-length album of the Manchester slam brutal death metal sickos Crepitation. After two splits and one EP, those five guys deliver a sonic rape in the form of 23 minutes of chugging guitar riffs, snare drum sounding like a metal bin and a nightmarish dual vocal attack courtesy of Mark Pearce and Chris Butterworth. One of them sounds like a pig and the other is like a toad. Crepitation are all about slam death metal which means that you will either love or totally hate them. The obligatory samples from different movies plus some techno beats here and there are also an integral part of "The Violence Of The Slams".
Crepitation are a band with ten years history which puts them away from the category of complete amateurs. They provide some remarkable riffs and grinding swaths like those on the closing track 'Ophthalmic Arterial Hammerage'. Having in mind that this is slam death metal though variety is not something to be expected. As it was mentioned before, you will either love it or hate it. The energy in Crepitation's music is undeniable, the cover artwork is totally ridiculous so if you are in need of some slamming ear molestation, "The Violence Of The Slams" might be just for you.
