Cote d'Aver - Masticated Flesh
Masticated Flesh is the first official release from Cote d'Aver, and it falls into the rut that alot of bands' first albums' do. There's not too much originality to it, and nothing to distinguish it apart from any other death metal album on the shelves. Guitar will bring back some memories of early Cannibal Corpse albums, but throughout the entire album you'll be asking yourself "Where'd the drums go?" Production on the album for everything but the drums is good. The only way you know the drummer is doing blast beats is because all snare drum volume disappears. Alot of the songs sound pretty much the same, with a few tweaks here and there. Apart from the lack of snare the album isn't too bad, it's just not that good either.
