Christ Beheaded - Open The Gates Of Hell
Christ Beheaded is a Black Metal outfit from Indianapolis, Indiana. It features members of the bands Summon The Destroyer and Demiricous. The sound on this debut EP can be described as a hellspawn abomination of Craft, Watain and Marduk while being built upon a disctinctly Europen Thrash Metal assault. Open The Gates of Hell starts off with a terribly overused sample taken from the movie The Exorcist; unfortunately the music follows suit with the cliched Exorcist introduction.
The strong point of this EP is that it has sporadic tempo changes. A lot of the Black Metal bands today tend to pick a tempo and have it endure throughout the album; Christ Beheaded has many tempo changes placed throughout the release. Open The Gates of Hell is a mediocre release; it doesn't bring anything new to the table nor does it accomplish it's style more significantly than any of its predecessors from within the genr
