Cassandra Syndrome - Patriots And Tyants
This alternative goth band from Maryland USA wants to be known for their politically charged and socially consious tone on this debut album "Patriots And Tyants". This album presents a dark and mystical theatre with heavy guitar and bass, hammer hitting drums and vocals which draw you into an angelic suduction. Not much of originality here but if you are into fantasy sounding alt. metal with some Pagan music overtones then this album will be of interest to you. Personally I do like the musicianship here and find the storyline behind the music interesting but do feel that this album could have been better mixed, there is something lacking in smoothness here and the vocals seem to be misplaced in parts. Being a good start as a debut album I give "Patriots And Tyants" a 2/5.
