Deformed Future // Genetic Nightmare is the debut album of this blasting Turkish band out now under the sign of Unique Leader Records: the fans of this label can imagine what kind of metal Carnophage play, for the other ones we can only say that the product is a combination of fast and technical brutal death metal. And the result is really good. Suffocation, Hate Eternal and Necrophagist are the main inspirations for an album that will satisfy the appetites of many people around because of its variety: we have really fast and frenetic parts but also slower and more cryptic ones, technical and complicated riffs but also thrash memories, the solos are never too intrusive, all the instruments have their own space (included a pulsing bass) and the vocals are good too, right in the middle between a too closed brutal death voice and a “cleaner” and understandable performance. An excellent and convincing debut album.
