Blood Freak - Live Fast, Die Young... And Leave A Flesh Eating Corpse

Blood Freak is the band of master mind Maniac Neil (still in Frightmare and also played in Lord Gore or Maniac Killer) and this album is the 2nd full length. It follows the debut album "Sleaze Merchants" from 2003. When you bought the CD you wished it came on vinyl. Why? Because of the delicate artwork. The cover is done by famous Edward Repka and the inlay by Putrid. Combining the artwork with the lyrics you come to the conclusion that they must be dealing with horror, gore but also humor. Inspired by old school gore death metal, thrash and sludge he came up with 23 tracks. You will not only hearing music but also samples from horror movies. Maybe it can be described as a soundtrack for some juicy blood spilling movie. The songs are fast but with breakdowns or even sensative like the beginning of th song "The Flesh And Blood Show". Tunes are not boiling blood constantly but have a catchy element so you keep listening. Considering that Maniac Neil is doing it all by himself you must say he did a nice job and shows his capability on the instruments but also his talent to write good music.
