Ahnenstahl - Zwischen Tod Und Leben
Ahnenstahl is a project from Falagar and Chester. Their demo album "Zweilicht" was released in 2003 and now in 2006 their debut full length is out. 7 Tracks in a pagan black metal coat. The concept of the album is dealing with human mortality and consciousness over death. Sung in German but often almost narrated lyrics with a heroic touch. Melancholic, doomy and paganism are just a few words that describe the feeling when hearling this. Tempo is epic and sometimes it is going a bit up tempo. Melodic songs with violin, piano or keyboard to create atmospheric parts. Not a bad release but listening the complete album could be depressing as it is more epic pagan than black metal.
