Agressor - Deaththreat

Agressor are known as French thrash-metal pioneers, but "Deaththreat" which was released 12-12-2006 and is the band's eighth studio recording is a brutal album, more mid-tempo death metal than thrash.

"Deaththreat" has a lot of variety, with no two tracks sounding the same. It's hard to pick a favorite track on this one, because there are so many good ones. "Lust Of The Flesh" and "Giant Of Old" stand out for different reasons, but track 9 "Transmutation" might be the best example of what this band is supposed to be famous for, that being a a French thrash band.

On this album, the influence of many different bands, everybody from Morbid Angel to Immortal can be heard, even on a particular track. Perhaps that is because Agressor have been around so long and shared a stage with so many legendary bands. Agressor are
credited with putting out the first death metal album originating from France, "Licensed To Thrash" a split recording between Agressor and Loudblast in 1988.
