Afgrund - Svarta Dagar
Afgrund is a Swedish band that has been around since 2006. Their album Svarta Dagar released under Lifestage Production reflects their deep roots in hardcore punk, death and other extreme styles. Unfortunately since all of their titles appear to be in Swede it proved impossible for me to understand the topics with which this band deals with. Musically, their sound is powerful and relentlessly rips in extreme beats with punkish beats heavily included. It took me a while to get accustomed to their compositions and after a while they might appear to be uniform. However, some songs do stand out, in particular Sjalvmord pa repeat and Katarsis. In all honesty I can detect a lot of Brutal Truth influence in their music, so if you’re into that style this band is a great choice.
