SoulCarrion - Infernal Agony

What we have here are two people from Poland who attack the world with their debut full-length album. Greg (lead guitars) and Michal (rhythm guitars, bass, drum programming) together with the session vocalist Mateusz Sibila have created nine tracks of darkened death metal with plenty of heavy riffs and (alas) programmed drums. SoulCarrion combine the death metal sound of 90's Florida with its European counterpart and have mixed the sound of bands such as Immolation, Incantation, Sinister and Morbid Angel.

The opening track 'Pile Of Ashes' demonstrates blasting drumming, brutal guitar riffing, skilfully played guitar leads and the deep growls of Mateusz that remind of the first three Sinister records. The following 'Realm Of Pain' offers a little bit of black metal riffing and you can hear that throughout the whole "Infernal Agony" album. The sound production is on a good level, you can hear what the instruments are playing. The programmed drums are the only weak point for me in SoulCarrion but hopefully, they can find a proper drummer to execute the rhythms they need. This Polish band has potential and only time will tell how far can they go.

"Infernal Agony" is a decent debut and if you have an interest in underground death metal bands that are at the beginning of their path, then check this one out!
