Nightmare - Genetic Disorder The history of this band is going back to 1979. Yes you read it well: 1979! Their break came in 1983 when opening for Def Leppard in Grenoble in front of over 4000 fans. They played and released albums but in the end of the 80s the stops because of musical directions. After 10 years the band reunited and start writing new material and with this their newest is "Genetic Disorder" and is released by Regain Records. On this album 12 tracks and could be classified under power heavy metal, remember when they started?. Power sung lyrics over melodic rhythms but the most power comes from the guitars. Heavy riffing and very nice soloing is what carriers the heavy metal banner. The songs are divided in fast takers ("Battleground For Suicide" and "Forsaken Child") and more midpaced songs like "Nothing Left Behind" or "Final Procession" (also shot as a video). They even go to more slower going tracks like "Queen Of Love & Pain" or "Leader Of The Masquerade" which sound too commercial. With "Genetic Disorder" Nightmare released a diverse album with a real heavy metal sound straight from their roots. Nightmare |
