Meliah rage has recently released what I think is their third full-length CD, The Deep And Dreamless Sleep. They are from New England and claim to filter bands such as Riot, Megadeth, and AC/DC. I am not a big fan of any of these bands really and Meliah Rage does not encourage me to listen further. They are a metal band but are not that creative. The riffs are generic, the vocals are James Hetfield-lite (not a compliment) and I do not even enjoy Metallica much. They are just too hair-bandesque and way too steeped in that most terrible music era, the 1980s. Many are into this. Right on. Just not me. The title of the CD, The deep And Dreamless Sleep is excellent, and the title track is a little more creative in its efforts to carve anew, but the record as a whole is not for me.
