Loathe is a 5 piecce metal band from Malta and although the island sucks this band is the opposite. This is their thrid independent release and I liked the previous ones a lot.
The members have different tastes and that can be heard in the songs. This EP is recorded with a new line up and contains 5 tracks. Tunes are played in heavy mid tempo with accelerations to upbeat rhythms. Double bass drum can be heard a lot and also the twin guitars in short but melodic riffing. Only in track two you hear a guitar lead and a pity it cannot be heard more often. Vocals are handled by Beast who has a deep raw throat but Loathe uses also other vocalstyles as a screamer, hardcore or even clean ones.
With this new EP Loathe shows a driven force to make heavy and good songs from various minds.
