The history of Hegemon is going back to 1996 when they want to annihilate any form of political, religious and humanist conformism and other weaknesses of mortal thoughts...
On "Contemptus Mundi" you will hear aggressive black metal mixed with pagan influences. In a coupleof songs you can hear pagan instruments and melodies. The bass drum is kicking frequently in the tempo parts but it is not all raging on speed. Hegemon is also frequently changing tempo and melody. So beside the aggression their is also a feeling when they play the slower parts.
Vocals are rasping the lyrics and they are written in Latin and dealing with the war in all its perspectives. The guitars are fast riffing the melodies but unfortunately there are no leads that crush your ears. Why are there no more leads in todays metal? Anyway, Hegemon plays enjoyable songs that interact with aggression, melody and atmosphere.
