Film DVD with bonus material
I got a question from Dave of AEA Zine if I had interest in this DVD. Are you kidding me I said! Hell yeah I am interested for the simple reason that I am a witness of the thrash scene. I remember that I heard "Kill Em All" for the first time. Read about in a mag and ran to the recordshop so see if it was true. Couldn't believe a band could play that fast! Man, the impact of "Hit The Lights" was tremendous. I swallowed the album anf bought it and drove my neighbours against the wall. From that point it went the way. When I heard "Show No Mercy" from Slayer through the headphones in the shop I went insane. From that point I was addicted and went to collect other bands who played THRASH. Instead of writing my youth here you can also watch this documentary about the history of thrash metal. It is one trip down memory lane with some good stories and funny anecdotes. Beside the film you can also select in the bonus different countries with the influences in the scene. Beside the interviews of our heroes you also get some audio. But the thing I miss in the DVD is a menu where you can select some tunes and watch videos. Now you have to do it with cutted footage of live gigs. But other than that this DVD is a must have for us "oldies" and sure for those newbies who claim to be the new generation of thrash bands. Go to the site and see various clips.
