Fetus Eaters / Diorrhea -Split review by Mykke of DoomRadio.net exclusively for BRUTALISM.com The band that spawned the subgenre of extreme metal known as Vomitcore -- or as they put it themselves -- "An attempt to transcend the familiar 'bark-bark, woof-woof' of other extreme bands." Listening to the songs of Fetus Eater on this CD I would have to agree they do stand out and yes, each little diddy is like an abortion in process, unpredictable and razor sharp as the doctor's scalpel as it lacerates your nervous system and evicts you from the womb of your nice, safe zone of comfort. FE have created a sriking group of good-humored if schizophrenic songs, with the longer ones clocking in at just under two minutes and the shorter ones at four seconds. Take that, Minutemen! There's lots of clever sound clips that segue between the songs and the whole of FE's contribution can be seen as one coherent message -- does that make it a concept album? Nah -- I think not -- it's just too damn punk for that. Powerful Italian grindcore nihilism. That sums up Diorrhea pretty well. They are a dynamic whirling dervish of destructo-mechanism comin' to do some nerve damage to ya via your ears.- the things you hear with, yo!! The grindcore of Diorrhea is absolutely insane and most of the songs on this CD are short and sweet escapades into drugs, violence and perversion, three inspirational facets of life that you can't go wrong with. This split CD with American vomitcore band the Fetus Eaters follows a 3-way split that Diorrhea did with Necrolust and Distruzione di Massa in 2005, the year they self-produced their second demo. Their first demo was "Legalize for violence and human slaughtering" which they did in 2004.
